Project A2 - Role of mAbp1 for leukocyte recruitment

In this project, we will study the impact of mAbp1 on the affinity regulation of the β2 integrins and their cytoskeletal anchorage. Interacting partners of mAbp1 will be identified in myeloid cells to further characterize the molecular function of mAbp1. In addition, the functional impact of mAbp1 on trafficking of different leukocyte populations including monocytes and lymphocytes will be delineated. The insight into the function of mAbp1 during leukocyte trafficking will not only provide a better understanding of leukocyte trafficking, but it may also lead to the identification of novel molecular targets for therapeutic intervention in acute and/or chronic inflammatory diseases.
