European Phagocyte Workshop at ESCI Meeting 2013

17.04.2013

The Phagocyte Workshop 2013 was held at the 47th Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Society for Clinical Investigation in Albufeira, Portugal on April 17 - 20, 2013. Oliver Söhnlein, Principal Investigator of SFB 914, organized the workshop, which was supported by SFB 914.

The workshop focused on recent innovative concepts of acute and chronic inflammation with a specific emphasis on mechanisms of inflammation ignition and resolution, leukocyte migration, and myeloid cell fate and heterogeneity. The line-up of invited speakers was truly spectacular, including Marco Bianchi, Eicke Latz, Ira Tabas, Sara Rankin, Leo Koenderman, Andres Hidalgo, Fil Swirski, Thomas Vogl, Andrea Cerrutti, Rodger McEver, Tanya Mayadas, Atilla Mocsai, and Alberto Mantovani. The venue right at the Algarvian coast was beautiful, and lots of young PhD students and Post-Docs joined the meeting for their first time.
