Claudia Nußbaum finishes habilitation

Clinician scientist successfully combines scientific career and patient care

Claudia Nußbaum, clinician scientist of SFB 914, finished her habilitation.

Claudia Nußbaum holds the postion of a Funktionsoberärztin in the Department of Neonatology at the Dr. von Hauner Childrens’ Hospital (Director Christoph Klein, project A08). In 2017, Claudia received a Gerok position of SFB 914 to partially relieve her from her clinical patient-care duties and support her scientific career. In parallel to her clinical duties, Claudia works in the laboratory of Markus Sperandio (project B01 of SFB 914) at the Biomedical Center Munich (BMC).

Concept of Clinician Scientists

It is the stated mission of SFB 914 to support young, highly qualified clinician scientists in the early stages of their career. The goal is to enable them to significantly advance their work in basic science alongside their clinical responsibilities in patient care.
