The campus-wide event Responsible Research 2017 focussed on data accuracy and reproducibility, but topics such as animal experiments, avoiding plagiarism, dos-and-don’ts of image processing were also be addressed by local and external experts. This day long event on July 20, 2017 was organized by the life sciences graduate programs in the greater Munich area in cooperation with the GraduateCenterLMU.
Open to
students, postdocs and senior investigators alike, the keynote lectures and breakout sessions all stirred discussions about the concept of Good Scientific Practice. This concept, however, does not stop after such an event is over. The lectures and sessions are much rather intended to stimulate thinking about the many different aspects and actually incorporating them into everyday life as scientists. For this purpose, the organizers have collected reference material pertaining to the topics in an online Toolbox, which will be updated intermittently.
