Project B03 - The role of the uPA-PAI-1 complex and the glycoprotein vitronectin for leukocyte trafficking

Using advanced in vivo microscopy techniques including spinning disk confocal microscopy (SDCM) and multi-photon intravital microscopy (MP-IVM) in genetically altered mice, the role of the uPA-PAI 1 complex and the glycoprotein vitronectin for extravasation and interstitial migration of different leukocyte subpopulations will be studied in this research project. In addition to conventional in vitro techniques, flow chamber assays and surface plasmon resonance analyses will be employed to characterize the underlying molecular mechanisms in further detail.
