Project B06 (E) - Dying cell-derived 'find-me' signals in leukocyte recruitment

This project ended 06/2015

The aim of this project is to characterize and identify 'find-me' signals that are released by dying cells, and to analyze their effects on leukocyte recruitment. We intend to study the mechanisms underlying the production and release of the responsible factors as well as the receptor cascades being involved in the migratory leukocyte response. This is not only of interest for the basic understanding of leukocyte trafficking but might also open therapeutic perspectives for diseases known to be associated with defects in dying cell clearance such as chronic inflammation and autoimmunity.
