Promoting Gender Equality

One-to-One Mentoring

Individual counselling by a female senior mentor on a regular basis.

Group meetings of the female scientists

Organisation of meetings for female scientists to exchange experiences and to discuss specific questions.

Specific coaching and skill enhancement

In order to assist female scientists we support the participation of specific training courses. These courses include intensive trainings in the areas of career support, time management, networking, conflict management, scientific writing, rhetoric etc.

Within the LMU two initiatives have already been established: LMU-Extra and LMU-Mentoring. At the TU, the Gender center offers mentorING, a special career building program to foster gender equality. We encourage young female scientists to participate in the programs. On demand, specific coaching or attendance of seminars will be sponsored.

Furthermore we offer:

  • Flexible support of female doctoral students and post-docs with young children to maintain the ‘work-life-balance’.
  • We can discuss possibilities of flexible working times during the first period of childcare.
  • We can grant coverage of additional costs for childcare for conference attendance.
  • Temporary help by technical or student assistants can be provided after individual consultation and assessment.
